Terms of Service

Effective date: · Operator: Tunelio · Contact: support@tunelio.dev

These Terms govern your use of the Tunelio API and website at tunelio.dev. By creating an account, generating an API key or sending a request to the API, you agree to them. Please read them together with our Privacy Policy.

1. The agreement

“Tunelio”, “we”, “us” and “our” mean the operator of the service available at tunelio.dev (the “Service”). “You” means the person or entity that creates an account or uses the Service. If you use the Service on behalf of a company, you confirm that you are authorised to bind that company to these Terms.

We may update these Terms from time to time. The effective date at the top of this page always shows the current version. Material changes are announced on this page at least 14 days before they take effect; continued use of the Service after that date means you accept the updated Terms.

2. The Service

Tunelio is a developer API that resolves publicly accessible YouTube media on demand. Given a YouTube URL, the API returns metadata and available formats (GET /info), a time-limited signed download URL for a chosen video or audio quality (GET /create), or timestamped subtitles (GET /transcript). Requests are served synchronously; there are no job queues.

The Service resolves and streams media at the moment you request it. We do not host a library of videos, do not store media files after a request completes, and do not offer any content that is not already available to the public on YouTube.

Tunelio is an independent project. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by or otherwise connected to YouTube, Google LLC or any of their affiliates. “YouTube” and “Google” are trademarks of their respective owners.

3. Accounts and API keys

You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service. You can sign in with Telegram or with an email address and password, and you may add a passkey or an authenticator app for additional security.

API keys are secrets. You are responsible for every request made with your key, whether or not you authorised it. Keep keys out of client-side code, public repositories and shared machines; rotate a key immediately from the Dashboard if you suspect it has leaked. We are not liable for credits consumed through a leaked key.

One person or entity may hold one free-trial account. Creating multiple accounts to obtain additional free credits is a breach of these Terms and may result in all related accounts being closed.

4. Credits, plans and billing

Usage is measured in credits. At the effective date of these Terms, GET /info and GET /transcript cost 6 credits per request, GET /create costs 10 credits, and GET /credits is free. A request that fails on our side (for example a 5xx response) is not charged, or is refunded to your balance automatically. Current prices and credit costs are shown on the pricing section of the homepage and in the API documentation, which prevail over the figures in this paragraph if they differ.

New accounts receive 100 one-time trial credits. Paid plans renew monthly and grant a fresh allocation of credits at the start of each billing cycle; unused plan credits do not roll over and expire when the cycle ends. Wallet top-ups (prepaid balance) are separate from plan credits and are consumed only when no plan credits remain.

Prices are quoted in US dollars. Payments are processed by third-party payment processors. Where you pay in cryptocurrency, the amount credited is the amount that actually arrives after network fees; a subscription is activated only once the full plan price has been received, and an underpayment is credited to your wallet balance instead.

We may change prices or credit costs with at least 14 days’ notice on the website. Changes never affect a billing cycle you have already paid for.

5. Refunds and cancellations

You can cancel a subscription at any time from the Dashboard. Cancellation stops future renewals; the current cycle stays active until its end date and is not refunded pro rata.

Credits are consumed at the moment a request is served and are non-refundable once used. Because cryptocurrency transfers are irreversible on-chain, we cannot reverse a completed payment. If you believe you were charged in error, paid twice, or the Service was materially unavailable for more than 24 consecutive hours during a paid cycle, contact us within 14 days of the charge. We will investigate and, where justified, issue a pro-rata credit to your balance or, at our discretion, a refund to a wallet you designate, net of network fees.

Trial credits and promotional credits have no cash value and are never refunded.

6. Acceptable use

You are responsible for how you use the media the Service resolves. Please respect YouTube’s terms and the rights of content owners. In particular you agree not to:

  • download, redistribute or monetise content in a way that goes against its owner’s rights or the platform’s terms;
  • use the Service to circumvent access controls, paywalls, regional restrictions or private-video protections;
  • send automated traffic that exceeds your plan’s rate limits, or attempt to probe, scrape, reverse-engineer or disrupt the Service and its infrastructure;
  • resell raw API access under your own brand without our written agreement;
  • use the Service to harass or harm others.

We may throttle, suspend or close access that breaches this section or causes abnormal load. Where practical we will warn you first.

7. Content and intellectual property

All rights in the media returned by the API belong to their respective owners; the Service grants you no licence to that content beyond what its owner and the source platform permit. The API, the documentation, the website and the Tunelio name and logo are our intellectual property and may not be copied or reused except as needed to integrate the API into your product.

If you are a rights holder and believe the Service is being used to infringe your rights, email support@tunelio.dev with the details and we will respond promptly.

8. Availability and changes

We aim for continuous availability but do not guarantee it. YouTube changes its systems frequently; short interruptions while we adapt are possible, and some videos may be unavailable for reasons outside our control (removed, private, age- or region-restricted, or blocked by the platform). We may add, change or retire features and endpoints; breaking changes to the API contract are announced in the documentation in advance whenever possible.

9. Liability

The Service is provided as is. We do our best to keep it fast and available, but we cannot promise it will always work for every video, and we are not responsible for how you or your users use the media it resolves. If something on our side goes wrong, our responsibility is limited to the credits or subscription fees involved.

10. Suspension and termination

You may close your account at any time by contacting support. We may suspend or terminate your account for a breach of these Terms, for non-payment, or if we discontinue the Service, giving reasonable notice where the circumstances allow. On termination your API keys stop working immediately.
